Saturday was a BIG day! LSU was playing Georgia and the annual lighted Christmas parade was happening all in the same day - AT THE SAME TIME! Last year, Blake didn't go to the parade because he was out of town for a wedding. This year, he didn't go because LSU was playing! He really missed out because we had a great time! We got to dance when the marching band passed by, we caught candy, we waived to Mickey, and we got to see Santa. It was another one of those times where I regret not taking my camera. Now I have these crappy cellphone pictures and that's it :( Oh well, better than nothing I guess.

Our nebulizer is still going strong! Who needs air freshener when you have albuterol! I've also started breathing treatments for the dreaded bronchitis - again! My little rugrats are icky germ carriers and love sneezing, snotting, coughing, etc all over me! It could be worse though! Blake and Addison are doing okay - for now!

Mom stopped by last week for a quick visit. They were just passing through, so she didn't stay long.

Rudolph & Hot Cocoa

This week at story time the girls made a reindeer out of their feet and hands! So stinking cute! Santa will be at the Christmas party in a couple of weeks and I really hope Addison and Alyssa aren't afraid of him. Maybe we should make a few trips to the mall and walk around the Santa exhibit, so they can get used to him!

Look at my sweet girls watching Rudolph and having hot cocoa! Well, Addison had hot cocoa, Alyssa didn't like it.

Alyssa has been pretty restless the past couple of nights. Nursing has been difficult for her and her appetite for solid foods hasn't been great. I suspected she had an ear infection to go along with the nasty cold. I was right - double ear infection :( Poor thing! I had called the pedi on Tuesday to get an appointment for Wednesday, but they were booked solid and Thursday morning was the earliest we could see the doctor. It's that time of year where you may be in and out of the pedi office in 30 minutes or 2 hours. I was prepared with snacks and toys, but this jerk that was there with his son wasn't prepared for a long wait. He was already mouthing off when we got there at 10:30 (our appointment was at 10:45) about how his appointment was at 10 and he didn't understand why people were being seen before him and how if the patient is 15 minutes late they have to reschedule, but the doctor can make you wait all day. Needless to say he ended up storming out without his son being seen by the doctor and cussing in a lobby full of children. Later, the nurse told the jerks wife called and apologized! I would kill Blake if he behaved that way.

Thanksgiving 2011

We went home last week for Thanksgiving and Parker's 3rd birthday party. Thursday night we stayed with dad, then Friday his house had some plumbing issues, so we loaded up and went to mom's house. Saturday on the way to Parker's party the van had a blowout. Thank goodness it happened close to home and NOT on the way back to Texas. Mom came and picked up me and the girls then dropped us off at the birthday party while Blake went and got the tire fixed.

Last week we welcomed the birth of Eli Alexander, my new great-nephew. He's beautiful and healthy!

I think Blake worked in a nail salon in his previous life! He's so good at trimming baby nails!

Bed Head!

Alyssa is 16 months old and Addison's old 12 month size LSU outfit swallows her. Looks like she will be able to wear this all winter along with a couple of other outfits I kept that Addison wore.

Crawl n' Cruise Jungle = GREAT TOY! We took this toy to my mom's house a long time ago because we needed room for NEW toys at our house and so there would be something there for Addison and Logan to play with (in addition to lots of other toys at her house). Well, each time we go home, Addison and Alyssa both play with it and LOVE it. It's been a great toy and held up nicely. Except for the balls that Blacky chewed up that are irreplaceable.

The Busy Zoo is another toy that found it's way to mom's house, but this one came back home with us Sunday! Alyssa showed quite a bit of interest in it, so I decided to make room back at our house for it. What was I thinking?!?! Christmas is right around the corner and our house will be busting at the seams with new toys!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

Addison put the star on our tree this year! Both of the girls are super excited about the Christmas tree. When Blake plugged in the lights Alyssa kept saying 'wow' over and over. I'll get a picture of the whole tree soon. All of the ornaments start halfway and then go up to the top. Nothing breakable is within reach of Trouble and More Trouble. I can't keep them away from it. We will probably have to wait until Christmas Eve to put out presents!

Our house has laminate flooring throughout, so I've always been sure to get the girls socks with grippers on the bottom. Well, Addison has moved up a size and I can't find any with grippers now, so I made my own! No, this wasn't my genius idea! All you need is puffy paint and tada - you have socks with grippers!

Addison has told me some cute things lately that I need to include in the blog.
1) Addison "We need to throw that white crayon away."
Me "Why?"
Addison "It doesn't work."
I just started laughing hysterically! She thinks because the white crayon doesn't really show up on the white paper that it doesn't work! Priceless!

2) This happened while the girls were taking a bath.
Me "Addison, stop pouring water on Alyssa's head."
Addison "But mom, I have to water her hair so it will grow."

My Turkeys

Here are the cookies I made for Addison's party at MDO. All of the turkeys have crazy eyes and I giggle each time I look at them! It was hard to get them all even, so I gave up and just did the best I could.
