Say Cheese

We made a trip to the dentist while in Louisiana for our 6 month check-up.  The girls were fantastic!  The hygienist and dentist are so good with the girls.  It's nice to see how well the staff interacts with them.  They show the girls all the tools and let them handle each one, ride up and down in the chair, pick MORE than one toy out of the prize chest, talk to them about what they are doing while cleaning.  Couldn't have been a better appointment!

Grocery Store Tales

Our trip to the store this morning was pretty hilarious!  When we walked in, Addison saw an electric scooter/wheelchair and asked me what it was.  I told her that it was for people that can't walk very well.  This came back on aisle 17 to bite me in the ass.  Addison saw a lady riding the scooter and said 'HEY MAMA, LOOK AT THAT LADY!  SHE CAN'T WALK VERY WELL'!  I thought about taking the opportunity to teach her a lesson in discretion, but instead just smiled and kept walking.

Next up we have little Alyssa.  I said we needed to get toilet paper.  Alyssa was very excited and said 'MAMA, WE NEED TO GET TOILET PAPER TO WIPE OUR GINA'!  Why do my kids talk softly 99% of the time and then the 1% that they don't, we are in public and they are saying inappropriate things?  The joys of parenthood = priceless!

Lastly, it's Addison's turn...again.  While checking out the clerk asked if we found everything okay.  I said yes, thank you, but Addison spoke up and told the clerk they were our of chocolate cinnamon rolls.  The clerk laughed and said that she would be sure to tell her manager.  Addison said 'yeah, and tell him send 2 cans to our house'!

Princess

If you look closely you can see the devil horns behind that tiara.  She is the sweetest thing one minute and a total terror the next!  I'm blaming her wild behavior on second year molars.  They haven't broken through yet, but it won't be much longer.  Lately, I have to handle her delicately when a situation arises that she isn't happy about.  If I don't catch the meltdown in advance then the next 20-30 = hell!

No Free Rides

You have to earn your keep around our house!  You want to eat?  You want to play?  You want to watch tv?  You want the iPad or iPhone?  Clean girls, clean!  I think I need to create a chore chart for them.  They may be more motivated if they see stickers on a chart for a job well-done!

Sunshine

We had almost forgotten what the sun looked like!  We've all had colds this week and cabin fever was setting in.  Luckily, the sun came out and we took off to the park.  This weather is slowing down the completion of our new swing set.  It's been raining way too much lately.  Just when the ground gets dry enough to mow and move the swing in place...it rains again.

The Life of a Ch-Ch-Chia

Well, I think we have a defective Hello Kitty Chia!  I'm 100% certain that she will NEVER look like the picture on the box.  These pictures were taken over a 2 week period.  We have more chia seeds, so I will try it again.

Let's Bake

Addison has been asking to bake cookies, so Blake went to the store and picked up some dough. The girls thought it would be a great idea to use some of the 10,000 cookie cutters that have.  They each got to pick out 3 cookie cutters.  Alyssa chose a dinosaur, car, and moon.  Alyssa chose a puppy, dog bone, and duck.  I left Blake to the all the baking duties, so didn't witness this beautiful disaster in the making!  The cookies may not be pretty, but they sure are delicious and the girls had a great time!

Breakfast

Addison asked what I was making for breakfast.  I told her that I was trying a new breakfast recipe.  She then tells me that she will only eat chocolate cinnamon rolls or chocolate cinnamon rolls.  Agh, this is my child!  For the record, we aren't having chocolate cinnamon rolls unless the new breakfast is a disaster!

Happy New Year!

Monday night I woke Addison up to go outside at midnight to see the fireworks.  When we first walked out and she saw them she was excited.  After about 2 minutes she was done and asked to go back to bed!  I didn't wake Alyssa.  I still follow the rule of 'never wake a sleeping baby' with her!

Our family had BIG changes in 2012.  We moved in May from a place we called home for 4 years to an apartment in a new town.  In September, Blake transitioned to a new office.  In October, we decided to buy a house.  In November, we closed on our new house and moved again.  I'm done with moving for a few years.  I'm very disappointed that Addison isn't in Pre-k or a MDO type program.  I never thought it would be so hard to find a place with an opening.  There are many kids that skip Pre-k and go straight to kindergarten.  It isn't the end of the world that she missed out on Pre-k, just not how I pictured things going (I repeat this daily to try and convince myself that...it's okay).  She's a smart girl and will do great when school starts this year.

Snuggles

Occasionally, I get to wake up with this sweet baby in my arms!  I enjoy every second because it's rare that she is still long enough for snuggles.
