Beach Time

We stayed at the beach for the last couple of days of our trip.  The girls talked about it all week and couldn't wait to get there!  We arrived late in the day, but the first thing we did was put our piggies in the sand and water!  I'm not sure why we live an hour from one of the Top 10 beaches for families and we've never gone.  It is now on our list of things to-do!  Since it's only an hour, a day trip is very doable.

Florida Birthday Party

We can't visit Florida without having at least one birthday party!  I don't know who 'Elyssa' is, but cake is cake!

Vacation Time

Our vacation began last Saturday with 1200 miles ahead of us!  After driving all day on Saturday, we stopped for the night to get some rest.  Sunday morning we only had 4 hours left of driving before reaching our first destination - Busch Gardens in Tampa!

Happy Father's Day - 2013

The rain clouds started to move in as we made our way to the park exit.  We caught the tram to take us to the parking lot and barely made it before the storm.  It was raining so hard that we had to wait before going to our car.  We made the best of it though!

Playing Catch Up

I've been slacking on the blog lately.  Life gets hectic and I forget that this blog will one day be made into a book for the girls!

Spray Park

It seems like I'm the only mom at the spray park that wears a bathing suit and plays with the kids.  Seriously, it's too hot to sit on a bench and watch the kids have fun!  I love getting in the water with them.  If they want me to play, I'm there.  If they are off playing on their own, I'll be sitting in a puddle or standing in the way of a sprayer...looking staying cool!  Around 10:30 more folks usually start to arrive and the park gets a little rowdy for my girls liking.  At first I thought they were socially awkward.  Then I realized my kids aren't socially awkward.  It's all the kids running around acting like a bird out of a cage for the first time.  My girls are just standing there checking out the free show!

Summer Family Fun

After we left the lake, the girls and I headed home for a visit with the family.  I know I've said this before, but I'm SO thankful that Addison and Alyssa are great passengers!  I sure hope I don't eat those words in a couple of weeks when we drive to Florida!  While home, we celebrated my niece's graduation from college.  That's a huge accomplishment and we are all very proud of her.  I also got to see my newest great-niece along with all of the other babies!  We had a blast!

First Lake Trip of 2013

The lake was fun as always!  It was awfully quiet for Memorial Day, but that just meant that we had the whole lake to ourselves!  My dad even came over and stayed with us.  I've been trying to get him over to the lake for 10 years!  The water was too cold for swimming, but the girls got in with Blake for about 2 minutes and that was enough.  I'm sure next trip will be much warmer.
