Ghost?

Don't be afraid!  That big white thing on the left isn't a ghost!  It's my 4 year old that wasn't ready to go to sleep and decided to parade around her room with a blanket over her head!  Alyssa was sleeping peacefully in her crib the whole time.

Counting

Alyssa can now count to 10 in English and 6 in Spanish (thanks, Dora)!  She's also getting really good with her colors.  I think my girls are overachievers!

This morning I took Alyssa to the doctor to have her ears checked for fluid that was present 3 weeks ago.  All clear!  The last thing I want to deal with on vacation is an ear infection!  Not to say that it still won't happen, but at least I know she's fine right now.

The pool on our side of the street is having maintenance issues, so we've been going across the street to the other pool.  It isn't as kid-friendly, but the girls still enjoy it.  I can't wait for them to start swim lessons in a couple of weeks!

New Toy

We will be playing on this new toy at memaw's house when we go home to visit!  I know the girls are going to have a great time!

Chalk

We may not live in a house with a huge driveway anymore, but that isn't stopping us from playing with the sidewalk chalk!  I thought about letting them draw on the balcony then Addison started drawing on the picnic table.  At first I wasn't so sure, but it turned out to be the perfect alternative!  Smart girl!

Surprise Lunch

We took the girls out for a surprise lunch at Chuck E. Cheese's this weekend.  They really enjoyed the pizza and games!

Father's Day at the Zoo

Saturday Blake brought home flowers and a card and said all he wanted for Father's Day was to celebrate Mother's Day!  So sweet!  We were moving the weekend of Mother's Day, so it got put on the back burner, but honestly, every day is Mother's Day to me.

Here is what the girls made for Blake.  You can never have too many crafts of hand and footprints! 

We spent the day at the zoo and had a blast.  Addison was really into the animals and Alyssa was just along for the ride.  I can't believe it's been a year since we visited the zoo.  Shame on us!  There's so much to do and see.  Before we went I packed a small ice chest with water, snacks, etc.  All of the food at the zoo is junk and overpriced.  We did have pizza for lunch that was pretty decent, but otherwise ate yogurt, applesauce, cheese sticks, and organic cookies.  We rode the train for the first time.  I was a little confused as to why the train didn't have a path by any animals?  It's a 15-20 minute ride and you only go around the outside of the zoo.  There are parks and picnic areas to see, but nothing else.  Oh well, it was still fun and the girls really enjoyed the ride.  The carousel was a big hit!  Addison rode an elephant and Alyssa rode a log with 2 monkeys. 

Can you spot the two little girls?  The 4D movie was so much fun!  We got windblown hair from riding in a plane with Dora & Diego, splashed with water when they dove in the ocean, smelled the rainforest and smelled the banana when the butterfly swiped it. 

Park Day

Our house has been fever-free since Monday morning!  Thank goodness!  The girls now have a nasty cough, but that's eat.  They are eating and playing and I couldn't be happier.  We are still going the inhalers, but all other meds are finished.

For a minute I thought we were at the Honda dealership instead of the park.  There were more minivans, but these 3 just happened to be parked by each other!

Last night we were eating dinner and Blake told Alyssa that he missed her.  She smiled and said 'I missed you too, dada'!  It was so sweet!  I wanted in on the love too, so I told her that I loved her and she said 'I love you too, mama'.  It melted my heart.  Addison always tells us that she loves and missed us, but Alyssa has just started.

3 Day Summary of Sickness

I've got 2 sick little girls on my hands :(  We've been fighting coughing and fever since Wednesday!  It started that morning with Addison crawling in our bed at 4am then when Alyssa woke she had a fever too.  These pictures sum up our last few days!

I checked their ears with my handy dandy ear checker and Addison was clear, but Alyssa registered a 5 in her left ear.  The same ear that was infected in April.  I found a pediatrician about 5 minutes from our house and was able to get the girls an appointment Thursday morning.  The pedi was wonderful and took her time with the girls.  Alyssa has croup and a virus.  Addison only has a virus.  We got steroids, inhaler, and cough/decongestant medicine.  Not much can be done, so we have to just wait this thing out.

Pallet Party!

This is how we roll on a Thursday night at 12:30am.  Dora, popsicles, and waffles!  I was more than happy to be up with them if they were ready to eat something.  

Friday hasn't been much better.  The fever seems to be slowly fading away.  Both girls have been running 99-101 today, but the past 2 days it was 102-104 consistently.  Today there's a lot of coughing and whining.  Hope these girls don't get too comfortable in my bed!  Once they feel better I will show them no mercy and put them back in their room!

Hello Kitty

Addison needed a new pair of tennis shoes, so this weekend we found a cute pair of Hello Kitty shoes.  Do you know how rich this kitty is?  If not, take my word for it, she's rich!  I guess from now on I'll be justifying expensive shoes by saying that Alyssa will wear them one day, too!  Like in the stroller picture, Alyssa is wearing an old pair of Adidas tennis shoes that Addison once wore.

Take me out to the ballgame...

Last weekend we went to a baseball game.  It was Addison's second game and Alyssa's first.  Addison enjoyed the cotton candy, but Alyssa tried to wipe it off her tongue and didn't like it at all.  Both girls did great.  They started getting a little restless towards the end and Alyssa finally fell asleep.

Our New Pool & Playground

Apartment life isn't too bad when you have a playground and pool to keep the babies busy.  The playground is a little big for Alyssa and I have to help her do most things, but it's perfect for Addison!  The pool is perfect for both of them.  There's rarely anyone out there during the week, but with school out for summer starting this week, it may be different.
