First Day Done

The first day of kinder and 2nd grade went very well! I must confess, that I stalked my children during recess today. A friend selected the Dora wig for my stalking shenanigans. Not sure why she chose it over the Elsa or Anna wig! I took it off before getting to the school and am glad I did! Seems like other stalker moms stole my idea and also decided to stalk their kids! So there we were, at 10am, parked on the side of the road, gazing through the chainlink fence looking for our little kindergarteners. We laughed at ourselves and then laughed some more. Afterwards, I had some time to kill before the next covert operation, so went and visited a friend. When 11am rolled around, I rolled back around by the playground. What do you know, a mom from the 10am stalking was there for the 11am stalking of her 2nd grader. I love this neighborhood and love knowing I'm not the only mom off the rails!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2015

These two were ready for the first day of school! Last night, we read our books and talked about how exciting today would be seeing familiar faces and learning new things. Drop-off this morning went very well. Parents can walk their kids into school for the first 3 days. We went to Addison's room first and wished her well on her first day. Then off to Alyssa's room. I made the hugs and kisses short and sweet. She was coloring away and didn't care if I was there or not. I had a feeling that's how the morning would go! 

Lunch: Chocolate sandwich, grapes, 

carrots, bell pepper, applesauce, juice

Snack: cereal bar

Rainy Day Crafts

We found some amazing crafts to help pass a rainy day with! Addison chose a pillow and Alyssa chose a spirograph. The pillow is really neat! There are a bunch of little cloths and you poke them through the designated holes with a crochet tool. The end result is a beautiful unicorn pillow! We are all getting use out of the spirograph. I forgot how much fun that set can be!

Papaw's House

I'm not crazy about 'selfies', but when my daddy wants to learn more about them, I can't say NO! I think we need a selfie stick!

Party at Parker's

We always manage to squeeze in time for a visit with our sweet friends. They now have a new addition to the family and her name is Layla. I got to snuggle with this precious girl and get lots of puppy sugar!

Sprinkler

Papaw has a bare spot on his front lawn where the tree had to be removed. He has planted grass, but it's taking forever to grow. Alyssa enjoyed running through the sprinkler one evening. She thought it was the greatest day ever! The little things!

Louisiana Play Time

The girls had been looking forward to playing on the water slide at Memaw's house! Unfortunately, there was a mechanical issue and a new part had to be ordered. That's okay though, it didn't slow down our fun!

Puke, Ride, Repeat

Last Sunday morning started out with us loading up the van and getting on the road home to Texas. Everyone was sleepy, but smiling. One hour into the trip, I hear Alyssa coughing/gagging and Addison yelling 'OH MY GOD'. I look in the rearview and see puke all over Alyssa and immediately pull off the highway. I don't recall this ever happening in my 7 years of parenting. There was so much puke. I took her out of the car seat and got her cleaned up with paper towels and wipes then put clean clothes on her. Tip of the Day: Always, always keep wipes, paper towels, plastic bags, and change of clothes in your vehicle. Next, I took the cover off the car seat and put it in a plastic bag along with the puke clothes. I wiped the seat off the best I could. There was puke in every nook and cranny! Instead of making Alyssa sit on the hard plastic seat, I folded a blanket for her to sit on and gave her a cup with instructions to puke in the cup next time! Yes, there was a next time. And a next time. And a next time. We didn't see anymore puke after crossing the Texas line! Woot Woot! Monday was uneventful, but Tuesday we saw fever up to 103 degrees. This isn't how I wanted to spend the last week before school starts, but I'll just keep trying to get Alyssa well and go from there!

Bunk Beds

We've been talking about getting bunk beds for months. After researching until they all started to look the same, we decided on a twin over full bed. It took me about 3 1/2 hours to put together and we all love it! 

I wasn't surprised at all to find them together on the bottom bunk the first night.

Alyssa's Well-Visit

5 year well-visit done! Alyssa has grown quite a bit since last year. 2014 - 29lbs, 36in; 2015 - 35lbs, 39.5in. She answered all of the pediatricians questions and is a healthy little girl.

Jack O' What?

Our neighborhood grocery store has Jack O' Lantern Chimineas on display. The girls couldn't understand why, since summer isn't over yet. They don't realize that some stores already have Christmas decorations for sale!
