SeaWorld

Our day at SeaWorld was fantastic! The girls knew we were going on an adventure and Addison had guessed a few times that it was SeaWorld. I guess because we told them that we would be going before school started. When we were close to getting there Addison saw the sign and read 'SeaWorld'! They were both super excited. It was a scorcher of a day, but we chugged water and survived the heat.

We met Franklin from Franklin and Friends! Alyssa wouldn't take a picture with him, so we all had to join in!

The girls each got a tattoo. Addison got a seahorse and Alyssa got a fairy. I was relieved for the small tattoos instead of the full face painting they initially wanted. While Alyssa was getting her tattoo, the lady told her that she had to be very still. Addison chimed in and said 'you mean FAIRY still'!

I've been putting the water hose on the trampoline and locking on the sprayer. It's a solid 2 hours of FUN! They love staying cool and jumping around. Great summer fun with these two!

Well-Visit for Buddy

The girls weren't the only ones getting a check-up this week! Buddy is healthy and only had to get his rabies vaccine this time.

I decided to delay Addison's 6 year well-visit and her with Alyssa in July. Since Addison is up-to-date on all her vaccines, it wasn't a big deal. She weighs 45 lbs (35th percentile) and 45 inches tall (45th percentile)! This kid is growing too fast! I had to complete a few forms and one was about asthma. After answering the questions and tallying the score it was clear there may be some asthma. The pediatrician confirmed it after examining Addison. She said that typically children outgrow asthma and Addison doesn't have a severe case right now. We have to do Pulmicort daily now to treat her asthma and prevent any damage to her lungs. Pedi said after 3 months we may be able to stop the breathing treatments. Overall, it was a good check-up for Addison.

Alyssa weighs 29 lbs (2nd percentile) and 36 inches tall (6th percentile). Addison weighed 37.5 lbs and was 39.5 inches tall at her 4 year well-visit. The pedi mentioned we could do growth hormones in a few years, but we discuss more at a later date. Yeah, probably not. Alyssa is super healthy, just tiny. I told Alyssa a few days ago that she would be getting a couple of pinches (shots) and she didn't seem to care. She told me that it would only hurt for a second! Okay then! Well, turns out she was due for FOUR vaccines! EEEK! Alyssa has always been pretty good about getting shots in the past, but I was a little worried. I remember Addison's 4 year shots and it wasn't pretty. When the time came for the pinches, the nurse asked me to sit in a chair and put Alyssa on my lap. Once we did that, the nurse crossed Alyssa's arms across her chest and asked me to give her a 'bear hug'. Alyssa got a shot in each leg and each arm.....without flinching or making a sound! She actually smiled at the nurse! Afterwards, the nurse was stunned and said she certainly didn't expect that to happen and gave Alyssa a high-five along with a ring pop. I later heard the nurse telling anyone who would listen about Alyssa getting 4 shots and smiling. I was worried about Alyssa not making a sound and had to ask her if she was okay. She smiled and said yes!

Sunday Funday

Happy Sunday! We started with swimming and then spent the rest of the day grilling out and playing! Pappy and our neighbor joined us for the festivities. It was a day filled with fun and we are all exhausted. The girls fell asleep in record time. I guess Alyssa thought she had a little extra energy to read a book after story time, but don't think she got very far.

I never know who is sleeping where until I peek in their room on my way to bed. I know exactly where they will be sleeping when I wake up though.....MY BED! 

Alyssa Turns 4!

This little girl is now 4 years old! All she keeps saying is that now she can go to prek! She's ready for school and I hope she still feels the same way when it's time to start! Both girls are really loving the new trampoline. I see a lot of bouncing in our future!

Trip Home

We had a wonderful time back home! Well, Alyssa got in a fight with a table and the table won, but overall it was a great visit. The girls got to play with Drew, Logan, Ara, Parker, Mila, Eli, and Adrienne. It's amazing how quickly all of these kids are growing! Watching them play together is priceless.

The girls had a great visit with the dentist this week! Addison is getting her 6 year molars! The lower right is already completely in and the others are on their way! I didn't even know there was such a thing as 6 year molars.

July 4th Weekend: Part 2

Addison, Alyssa, and Parker went tubing and loved it! I was a little nervous, but they all listened to instructions and did really well.
