Tropical Storm Bill

TS Bill brought some wind and rain, but our immediate area was spared from the worst. We shopped for supplies before the storm and played in puddles during the storm!

Pool & Chalk

It's that time of year again! The temps are already 90+, so it's hard to be outside with some kind of water activity. We picked up a new pool and some water balloons! I found this water balloon pump at the store and thought it would be awesome! I quickly realized that it's a fantastic product, but takes a little while to fill up a large quantity of water balloons. A friend told me about Balloon Bonanza and the girls told me about Bunch O' Balloons. Both of those products will fill up 120 balloons and tie them off automatically. Wow, right? Wrong. After going to several stores, I found them, but after reading the fine print decided against purchasing. They are one-time use and not worth $10. So, I'll just build up my muscles by pumping the water balloon pump!

Addison's 1st Grade Yearbook

I snapped a few pictures of Addison's yearbook! Alyssa even made it in there a couple of times!

Memaw's Visit

Memaw and Aunt B visited us recently! The visit was short, but we made the most of it. This was the first time Aunt B has been to our house and we enjoyed having her and Memaw here!

Dance Recital

The dance season is over for us! We finally have our Saturday mornings back and I couldn't be more excited! Here are a few pictures and videos from the BIG day. Some are from the dress rehearsal and some are from the actual recital. We won't get the professional video until next month. I can't wait to sit and watch all of the performances. It was exhausting running back and forth from the dressing room to the auditorium 50 times. I managed to see all of Addison and Alyssa's performances though. All of the girls have worked so hard for this one special day. Everyone did a great job!

There was a lot of 'hurry up and wait' during the day. We were warned earlier in the year how recital day would go and tried our best to be prepared. Snacks, iPads, games, etc. It all went smoothly and the girls never had a chance to get bored. 

Last Day of 1st Grade - Addison

TODAY WAS THE LAST DAY OF FIRST GRADE! School let out early at 11 and then we were off to party with our friends! I've officially titled the party 'Cocktails & Capri Suns'. This may very well become a end-of-school tradition! We are so lucky to have amazing friends around here.

There's a mom missing from the below picture. Not sure where she was hiding. I bribed her kid with a cookie to take this picture though! The mom on the left, I met last summer right before school started. They had recently moved to the neighborhood and didn't know anyone. She posted on our local facebook page asking to meet up with anyone else that had kids the same age as her kids. I met her at a park a few days later and we've been friends since. The next mom, I met when Addison was in pre-k. Our girls were in the same class together. So far, we've navigated kindergarten and 1st grade together. The mom beside me, I met earlier this year while volunteering at the school. The missing mom, also posted on the local facebook page asking to meet up with anyone else that had the same 1st grade teacher her daughter was assigned. The class rosters had just been posted. Who knew you could make real friends on facebook? We met up right before school started at a donut shop for our girls to meet. I see her everyday when I drop her daughter off after school.

Addison's Awards Day 2015

Addison received her 1st grade completion certificate! Miss Smartypants is moving on up to 2nd grade! Afterwards, we celebrated with a trip to Chick-fil-A for lunch with friends.
