Spring, Is That You?

Chores

I didn't have kids for nothing! I'm so happy they are getting big enough to do real chores! Of course, they find washing the cars 'fun', but I find it very helpful! Alyssa is my shadow and constantly wants to help with whatever I'm doing. Sweeping, vacuuming, folding laundry, setting the table - she does it all! Addison helps occasionally, but would really rather sit back and watch others work!

Plumbing

A couple of weeks ago a pipe started leaking under the kitchen sink. I replaced a few pieces and now no more leaky pipe! If I had not worked at a hardware store 20+ years ago, I probably wouldn't have tackled this project even though it was very simple. Plumbing is a nasty business!

First Field Trip

Last week, a bunch of little kindergarteners loaded a big yellow bus and headed out to a farm! Parents couldn't ride the bus, so there was a convoy of 'helicopter' parents following the bus. Yes, I was in that convoy. There was no way in hell that I was going to let my first born go off on her first field trip alone. Maybe the 100th time, but not the first! The day started out cold and windy, but warmed up in the afternoon. I'm so glad that I grabbed a jacket for myself and Addison. Some kids wore shorts and were freezing. Everyone had fun at the farm with all of the different activities! It's definitely a place that we should visit again.

Another Nine Weeks

Addison had another great report card full of S's! I can't even keep up with everything she's learning at school. It amazes me how quickly kids learn. Their little brains just absorb so much! We are now starting the FINAL 9 weeks of KINDERGARTEN! When school started, I wasn't sure how we would ever make it to the end! I couldn't be more proud of my baby big girl!

Extra Clothes

Both girls have an extra set of clothes in their backpacks for accidents, mud, spilled food, etc. The GOOD news is that they haven't been needed for SEVEN months. The BAD news is that Addison went to school in pants the other day, but had on SHORTS when I picked her up! First of all, thank goodness it was fairly warm out so Addison didn't look out of place in shorts. Secondly, I'm surprised the shorts still fit at the rate this girl is growing. Thirdly, I was afraid to find out why she had to change clothes. I'm relieved to report that she spilled a little of her fruit smoothie on her pants at lunch! The lesson here is to change out extra clothes as the seasons change AND as your child grows! I got lucky. I also realized that it's best to have pants as an extra change of clothes instead of shorts.

New Addition

Here she is..... MILA KAY! I finally got to hold this sweet thing while we were home after a long month of waiting! Alyssa was a little 'mommy' just as I expected and Addison was not very interested. Parker is a great big brother and so loving towards Mila. He is such a sweet boy and will take very good care of this little girl!
