Spring Lemons

In about 6 months our tree will produce the biggest, sweetest, most delicious lemons! 

Addison's Minecraft Party

Addison chose Minecraft for her 8th birthday party theme! She also wanted it to be at the same gym where Alyssa had her party last year. So, she got her Minecraft gymnastics party last weekend! 

After researching cakes and cupcakes we decided to go with the 'grass/dirt' cupcakes! I enjoy a challenge and the 'grass' frosting on the chocolate cupcake was new to me. I've never used the grass frosting tip and it took a few cupcakes to get the hang of it. Some of the cupcakes had frosting that looked like green noodles! I also printed the toppers and laminated them.

Addison Turns 8

Our first little baby is now 8 years old. Eight. VIII. Ocho. Doesn't matter how you type it or say it....still doesn't seem real. The day she came home from the hospital was truly a 'WTF' moment! You can read every single parenting book published, but nothing prepares you for the first day home with your first baby. Nothing. I look at her today and realize we've been doing something right for the past 8 years. She's pretty awesome!

Kidz Bop Concert

Addison and Alyssa LOVE Kidz Bop! It's a group of 4 kids who sing todays hits, but change up the lyrics to make the songs suitable for kids! A while back the girls saw an ad on tv for the Kidz Bop tour that was going to San Antonio and Austin. They begged to go see KB in San Antonio, but I told them it was too far and we weren't going. Later, I checked on tickets and they were reasonable enough to buy 4! We met up with KJ, Candor, and Todd before the concert. It was a quick visit, but we enjoyed it!

Our first stop at ACL was the gift shop! We bought our light-up microphones and shirts then went into the bathroom to change!
Addison was a bit apprehensive in the beginning. I think she was overwhelmed by all the people and loud music. OR maybe she was starstruck! After a while she relaxed and enjoyed the concert! Alyssa had the time of her life from start to finish!

Rainy Days Off

The girls were out of school Friday April 15 for a student holiday. Little did we know that we were really going to have a 5 day weekend instead of a 3 day weekend!  I knew it was going to start raining late Sunday night, but had no idea what I would wake up to Monday morning. Buckets of water fell from the sky and the thunder roared like never before. My phone was constantly going off from all the alerts! TWC, FEMA, Intellicast, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Around 6am on Monday morning, I got the alerts about our school district not holding classes. I went back to sleep and woke around 7:30am. I began opening the blinds in the back of the house and worked my way to the front. When I opened the front blinds I had to take a second look and then go outside to inspect further. The water went down when the rain slowed and our street drained pretty quickly afterwards. School was closed 4/18 & 4/19.

Park Play Date

Alyssa had a play date at the park with her BFF from school! We invited a few other friends to join us and play some baseball. It was a great day filled with fun and laughter!

Last week we had a day off from school for a student holiday. We met up with some friends at the park and enjoyed the day!
