Tooth #4

Finally! 10 days later the other top tooth came out last night 10/18/15! Although, it was helped along by a kid at school who bumped into Addison's mouth last Friday. Today, I believe there is nothing in this world more adorable than a little seven year old missing her 2 front teeth!

Perfect Eyes

I'm giving myself a huge pat on the back today! For the first time in 5 years I drove without Blake to downtown! If you've never been to Houston and driven during rush hour, then you won't understand how big of a deal this is! I already avoid all of the major freeways and will do without something before getting on them. Yesterday, we made a trial run and my fears were all calmed. From the time we started going to Texas Children's 5 years ago, there has been major road construction all around that area. It made it difficult to navigate to the parking garage and seemed like each time we went there was a different route. Well, hallelujah, ALL road construction was gone yesterday and it was easy peasy! Traffic wasn't too bad either.

Alyssa's eyes are perfect and she never has to go back to TCH unless there's a problem specifically with her coloboma! From now on she can see any ophthalmologist.

Smile

The girls got a great report from the dentist! No cavities and a healthy smile! The dentist offered to to go ahead and pull Addison's other front loose tooth, but she kindly declined.

Tooth #3

I knew this tooth would be gone by bedtime! It's hung on by a thread all day! At 6:30 we were reading books and Addison was wiggling her tooth. She suddenly said 'MY TOOTH' and held her hand out. Then followed with 'JUST JOKING'! At 7:15 it was time to get tucked in and lights out. We were just walking out of the room when Addison jumped up and said 'MY TOOTH, MY TOOTH, MY TOOTH CAME OUT'! We turned the lights on and saw a snaggle-tooth little seven year-old smiling and holding a little baby tooth! She was in disbelief and super excited!

Fall Picture Day & The Loose Tooth

Addison has a loose tooth that is very ready to come out! I told her last week the tooth needed to be gone before picture day (only joking, of course). Well, picture day is here and the tooth is still dangling! See it? Next up, on picture day was 'bowgate'. Addison refused to wear her BIG bow! She did compromise with the medium bow, but I really love the BIG bow!

Sleepover

Guess what? Addison and I survived her first sleepover away from home! I was brave and let my big baby girl stay away from me for a whole night! It was very hard going to sleep knowing she wasn't tucked safely in her own bed. However, she was in great hands with a dear friend less than 5 minutes away! After dropping Addison off, I took Alyssa to Dollar Tree for some Halloween crafts. Yeah, she picked out some plastic skull wine glasses! Later that night she asked me if she could drink out of her wine glass...

Awana

Addison and Alyssa started Awana a couple of weeks ago. It's a children's program at church. The school/church where the girls went for preschool and pre-k just began offering Awana this year. It's nice to see so many familiar faces on Wednesday nights!
