Alyssa's Christmas Program

Alyssa's Christmas program was this week and she did great! I had bought her a cute little dress to wear from a consignment shop last week, but it ended up being too big. Luckily, I've held on to quite a few of Addison's clothes! But, different seasons and different sizes means I can't always use the hand-me-downs! Addison wore this same dress in December 2010 when she was 2 1/2 years old (dress is a 3T). I tried it on tiny Alyssa (3 1/2 years old) and it fit good enough to wear. I think next Christmas she will really fit it. For kicks, I should see if Alyssa can still fit her 6-9 month matching dress!

As we were heading out the door to the program, I almost grabbed my camera. Then decided not too. Big mistake...HUGE! My phone didn't like the lighting at ALL in the church. The videos turned out okay, but no still pictures. Oh well, lesson learned!

Minion 1 & Minion 2

My dear friend, April, made these minion hats for the girls! I'm in love, the girls are in love, everyone that sees these hats are in love with them (girls and minions)! April was even thoughtful enough to sew a number 1 on Addison's and a number 2 on Alyssa's, so they can tell them apart easily. 

Santa Rides Again!

Santa made his annual ride through the neighborhood today throwing out candy! Alyssa was excited until the truck started coming down the street. She wasn't a fan of the sirens, but Addison loved everything about it!

Candy Land Time

The girls are really into board games lately. It's pretty neat how we can all play together and they understand rules and taking turns. We still hear the occasional 'I wanted to win', but overall it's a joyful experience and a fun family activity. They are getting Monopoly Jr. for Christmas and I'm looking forward to playing with them.

Breakfast with Santa

Addison's school hosted a 'Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus' over the weekend. There were tons of people there and Addison saw quite a few of her friends. Alyssa wasn't impressed with Santa or Mrs. Claus. Addison just wanted to know why Santa's mom (Mrs. Claus) was there! This is a picture I snapped with my phone. We should get a better picture next week. There was a photographer set up to take all the pictures of the kiddos.

If you have kids that still believe in Santa and 5 minutes to spare, you must do this! Take a picture of your Christmas tree, upload it to iCaughtSanta, follow the directions and insert a Santa into the picture! There's a free online code, #SantaShare, good through Tuesday. This website usually charges $10 for the picture!

One Little, Two Little...

Princesses!

We love getting packages in the mail! A few weeks ago this turkey arrived and the girls were so excited! They knew memaw was sending it and couldn't wait to get it! 

To all the future parents out there..... Costumes aren't just for Halloween! They will be worn all year! Alyssa the Explorer wanted to go on an adventure one day to the mailbox. So, we drew a map, complete with the fire hydrant on the corner, trees, sidewalk, houses, and the mailbox up the street. Not sure where the gardening gloves fit in, but I guess if you are an explorer then you always need to be prepared.

Thanksgiving Pow Wow

Addison had a Thanksgiving party at school and from the look on her face when she got in the car, it was a GREAT time! She made a turkey with 5 feathers, but I only saw 4 at first. The center of the turkey said 'What I'm thankful for' and then each feather had 'God', 'dad', 'mom', and 'sister'. Then I saw the 5th feather and it had 'brother'. I said "Addison, you don't have a brother". She said "Yes I do....Buddy"!
