Ballet: Week 5

The day started with Addison not wanting to go to ballet, but ended with a monster cupcake!  When we got to ballet she didn't want to go in the class and I had to remind her of the special treat waiting at the bakery for her.  She did great during class - dancing, laughing - it was adorable!  

How We Roll

This is how we roll in Texas - babies playing in their undies - in the front yard!  The sand/water table stays on the front porch in the shade, but we moved it to the driveway to make sure everyone had plenty of room to play!

Last Blast at Spray Park

The spray park will be closing soon for the season, so we decided to take Parker and Erin for one final visit for the year.

Feeding the Ducks

Erin and Parker spent the weekend with me and the girls while Blake and Danny went to UFC.  Our girls weekend getaway is in the near future :)

On Friday we went to the park and fed the ducks.  I should take the girls there more often!  Shame on me.  It was a blast and the babies loved it!

Ballet: Week 4

This morning I asked Addison if she wanted to go to ballet today.  She replied with "I don't think so".  Okay, fine.  I told myself that I would ask again after her nap (which looked a little like this):

Before nap time, we hit up story time at our local library.  It's an hour full of crafts, stories, singing & dancing with the babies.  Addison & Alyssa had a great time along with Maggie, Travis & Easton.

After the library it was time for lunch & naps!  I got up this morning & made homemade chicken nuggets to freeze, but left enough out in the fridge for the girls to eat at lunch.  They turned out super yummy!  I should have been making these ages ago!

Usually, while the girls nap I catch up on my trash tv.  Not today!  I didn't realize how tired I was until I woke up from MY nap!  It's been a long time since I took a nap.  After being up for a week on those steroids I'm completely drained & didn't even realize it.  Yesterday was my last pill, so I guess my body is adjusting back.

Oh, ballet... When Addison woke from her nap I asked her again if she wanted to go to ballet.  She replied "Yes, sure".  Hmmm, okay.  I knew we had to give it another shot if she said she wanted to go, so we did.  On the walk to ballet I made a deal that if she was a good girl & didn't cry she could get a special monster cupcake with a cookie from the bakery.  She was pretty excited about ballet & the cupcake.

 Addison participated in class & never once cried or misbehaved!  She did fantastic!  Week 4 was a SUCCESS!  This is what she came home with from the bakery!  A cupcake dog?

Kicking it at Kemah

Another check off of our 'Bucket List' over the weekend - Kemah Boardwalk.  This attraction is a short drive for us, so we decided to tackle it today.  We also had a Buy 1 Get 1 coupon for an All Day Pass, so that was a plus.  When we got there it was lunch time & after reading so many mixed reviews about the restaurants there we just decided to go with the one where the girls would have the most fun.... the Aquarium!  Overpriced, but okay food, friendly staff, clean area.  The aquarium in the restaurant is what you are paying for at this place.  The girls enjoyed it & so did we.

After lunch it was time to get on those rides!  Addison isn't afraid of anything anymore & now we have to explain to her why she can't ride the roller coaster or the pirate boat or the .....!

Three hours later Blake could tell a meltdown was brewing after getting her off the carousel for the 5th time, so it was time to go before we had to show off our parenting skills in public.  As soon as we got on the highway -
