July 4th Weekend: Part 1

We had another great holiday weekend at the lake! The weather was excellent. The food was delicious. The people were well-behaved. This was the first year that we've taken the girls out on the boat at night to see the fireworks. Alyssa fell asleep on the way, but I woke her up once the fireworks started. Addison REALLY loved the fireworks and didn't want them to end.

Bye Swim Lessons

The girls aren't olympic swimmers, but they did learn a few things. Kicking, floating, swimming with boogie board and noodle. I'm sure we will do lessons again next summer and learn some more. I will say that one kid did better than the other. Not going to name names though!

Play Date

We picked up Reyana for a play date last week and took a trip to the library and then lunch! The girls loved spending time together. 

2008 Flashback

While visiting Pappy at the RV recently, Addison found a little LSU doll and was playing with it. We started talking about how she played with it when we used to tailgate years ago. I remembered there was a picture of her from then, so I snapped a picture of her today with the same doll and sitting in the same chair! Enjoy!

Giggles

Bedtime giggles! Sometimes all I need is a genuine smile from these two to know that I did something right that day.  I never feel like I do a good enough job as a mom and then I remind myself that my girls are happy and healthy, so whatever I'm doing is working. Whether they will need therapy later in life remains to be seen. Let's all give ourselves a pat on the back! We are raising kids in a crazy world. There isn't one parenting-style that fits all children and you have to do what works for YOU and YOUR child.
